Ho ho ho! The band has the first recording sessions for the new album, set to be out in time for Christmas!
The band's new album has finally started recording! We hope to have the album ready for Christmas. Until then, here are some photos to give you a sneak peek into where all the magic happens...
Ali through the little TV... Rich through the tv... Tom in the next room... Rich in the next room... Listening through the tracks after a hard day's work!
Based in the musically vibrant seaside resort of Scarborough, Amaya is a young singer/songwriter who performs regularly on the Scarborough circuit. She has written over forty songs, twenty-seven of which are included in her first two CDs, produced at her home studio. Amaya is a classically trained musician with a BA (Hons) in Music from Durham University, who composes and orchestrates instrumental compositions. Published works include a commission for the Festival of Light which formed part of the 2009 Coastival Festival. An adaptation of her Spanish flavoured Traslasierra was performed as a part of a suite by the East Riding Youth Orchestra. Initially, Amaya performed as a solo artist and, at specific venues, still does. However, she is mainly seen performing with her band. This has influenced her writing as now she often composes with the band in mind. The Amaya Huntly Band is a four-piece, consisting of Alistair Huntly on guitar, Rich Hodgson on bass and Tom Townsend on drums.
